THE DONATION
The box set contains a prototype created from the Squale archives, with the original case and dial from the 70s and the remaining parts created through manufacturing innovation. The knife, on the other hand, is a recreation of the historic Galeazzi knife: this knife, made at the request of ComSubin (Comando Subacquei ed Incursori - Divers and Marines Unit) was supplied to the State Police Divers in the 1970s.
To honor the great story that binds Squale and the Diving Unit, a limited edition of the same box set, identical to the original one donated to the Police, has been released. Each component has been made using manufacturing techniques from the past. Even the production, limited to 30 pieces, favours the high quality achieved with the manufacturing techniques of the 70s, prior to the introduction of the quartz movement.

THE HERITAGE OF ARTISANS
A fusion of history, craftsmanship and professionalism gave life to the Tribute model. Born as a prototype in the 70s, and subsequently unearthed from the Squale archives, the craftsmanship of this watch is a true testimony of the era to which it pays homage.
Beginning with the cases, made by working a 316L steel bar by hand, and continuing with the dials to which the Luminova and Applique have also been applied manually. Choosing to use Plexiglass and assembling each watch by hand attest to the desire to remain faithful to tradition.
THE CHOICE OF TOOL FOR THE SPECIAL UNITS
The legendary Galeazzi knife was patented in 1956 at the specific request of the ComSubin (Divers and Marines Unit), an elite unit of the Italian Navy. Designed to be a real multipurpose tool, it comes with a sharp and a serrated blade for dangerous situations in the deep. In addition, it is equipped with an adjustable wrench positioned on the handle to meet the needs of such a highly specialized military unit.
Nowadays, the knife has been reproduced for Squale by an Italian company using the original patent from the Galeazzi company.
THE KEEPER OF TRADITION
To create the case containing the knife and the watch, it was decided to call on a specific craftsman who has a connection with both Squale and the State Police. The manufacturer is the same one who produced the boxes made for the Squale 101 ATMOS Bronze that marked the 60th anniversary of the creation of the Divers Unit in 2018.
Each case of the Tribute Limited Edition is one-of-a kind because of the wood from which it is made. They have been crafted from 19th-century oak barrels recovered from wineries and expertly handcrafted in the heart of Tuscany. Over time the wooden slats have absorbed the wine and ambient elements in different ways, creating unique colors and shades for each case.
