SQUALE X DRASS GALEAZZI
The Pioneers of Subaqueous Exploration
With over a century of uninterrupted business, the name Galeazzi is synonymous with the history of subsea technology.
Roberto Galeazzi, born in Livorno in 1882, was a naval engineer, founder of the Galeazzi Company (Now called Drass Galeazzi), and one of the most influential inventors of the 20th century.
Galeazzi’s revolutionary spherical design patent of 1926 enabled the build of ultra-lightweight structures able to withstand extreme pressure, transforming the future of subsea technology.
Their immersion solutions included helmets, boots, lamps, leads and knives, alongside the Galeazzi helmet range, The Atmospheric Diving Suit and The Butoscopic Turret, which established a world-first at 275 msw in 1930 permitting deep sea search and recovery operations without the need for decompression.
Today, Drass Galeazzi Group, with Headquarters in Italy, is world leader in diving decompression systems, having designed and manufactured the majority of certified commercial diving systems worldwide since 1967.
The Squale Galeazzi professional diving watch was borne from the collaboration between Squale and Drass Galeazzi, two brands that share the same historic and pioneering spirit for the subaqueous exploration. The result is a superb watch that pays tribute to the past while being modern and avant-garde.
Inspired by the iconic Squale Master (which you can see here), its polished steel case guarantees impermeability up to 500 meters thanks to the 4-mm sapphire crystal and a helium valve that render it a professional diving watch in every respect.
The black and old radium colour scheme chosen for the bezel and dial evokes a classic style. This combination gives the Squale Galeazzi a vintage aesthetic that commemorates the extraordinary history of both brands.
The dial features both the Squale logo at 12 o'clock and the classic Galeazzi logo at 6 o'clock. This logo depicts a diver's helmet, the symbol par excellence of the pioneering experience of underwater exploration. The Galeazzi logo also appears on the caseback, along with the serial number of this remarkable limited edition collaboration.
The Squale Galeazzi comes with a smooth, black leather strap adorned with elegant grey inserts for a perfect retro look. A microfiber strap is also included in the box. This modern material guarantees lightness and comfort.
The packaging box was intended to be functional. It's IP67 certified: these boxes are designed to transport and protect sensitive equipment and materials. They are also equipped with an automatic pressurization valve, to guarantee resistance to water, dust and impacts.
